Creating A Brand

In the Fall of 2018, I had decided to rush the Iota Mu chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity at Mizzou, which helped me advance my network and skills as their Public Relations Chair. I spent the next year creating their Instagram page (gaining over 400 followers in my term), updating our chapter website with newer images and information, and promoted recruitment efforts and other useful announcements across our social platforms.

My journey in Public Relations continued as I was elected to be Vice President of Public Relations for the Mizzou Interfraternity Council (IFC). Myself and some of Mizzou’s best leaders sought to change the IFC community for the better. From going to the Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values (AFLV) conference in Indianapolis, promoting our summer Formal Recruitment event where we registered over 600 potential new members, and assisting in any marketing needs for the community, my time in this role defines what I can do best for your organization.

After I graduated from college, I moved back to St. Louis and helped start a small business with a friend from high school. Casey Teson and I started a basketball skills academy for players from 4th grade to college where we trained over 100 kids over the summer of 2022. Some of my responsibilities included shooting photos and video for social media and the website I created (www.tesonbasketball.com) as well as create graphics for upcoming events, organize scheduling and registration, and even assisting during the training sessions.

In addition to that, I spent a year as a contracted employee for Anheuser-Busch InBev as a Merchandising Specialist for the Merchandising Design Center (MDC) and a Data Migration Specialist for the CapacityEx team.

Playing In A Pandemic - KOMU Over The Top Series

During my semester in Convergence Editing and Producing, three other journalists and I took on a three-part series about local athletics’ struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic. All three installments were available on KOMU’s app on Roku TV™, Apple TV™ and Amazon Fire TV™. I was primarily in charge of sourcing for the series as well as the writing for both the first and third installment, while we were in charge of editing the second by other Convergence reporters.
